Liquid Stone · LS-06

Basalt

Dark, enveloping, and unmistakably grounding. Most Basalt installs end up on exposed exterior elevations or fireplace walls and bed-headboard recesses. Pairs naturally with travertine, brushed brass and aged leather. Within the Liquid Stone range, Basalt carries an undertone that doesn't pick a side and volcanic grey undertones — dark mineral grey with rough character in overall character. Borrows its character from Brutalist exterior interiors and re-reads them in a modern context.

FAQs about Basalt

Questions clients ask about this shade

Won't Basalt make the room feel smaller?+

Deep shades like Basalt actually blur a room's edges, making walls feel further away rather than closer. The trick is to wrap the colour onto skirting and trim so there are no high-contrast lines to remind the eye where the room ends.

Can Basalt be used outside as well as inside?+

Yes — Liquid Stone in Basalt is rated for interior and exterior use. For exterior elevations we add a weather-protective topcoat rated for UK rainfall.

What does Basalt pair with from your range?+

We most often pair Basalt with the three closest shades in its family — see the pairings panel below. Beyond that, sits comfortably alongside sandstone, exposed concrete and patinated metals.
