Concrete Floor Finishing, Grinding and Polishing
Sometimes the best floor in the building is the one already in it. Grinding, densifying and polishing a sound slab gives you a hard wearing surface with no coating to delaminate, and it takes the building out of use for less time than a resin build up.

How we install it
- 1Trial panel first
We grind a metre square in the area you care about. Aggregate exposure depends on how the slab was placed and how flat it is, so a trial is the only honest way to show what you will get.
- 2Repair before you polish
Cracks, joints and pop outs are filled with a semi rigid joint filler or resin mortar. Polishing highlights defects rather than hiding them, so repair comes first.
- 3Grind, densify, hone
Metal bonds cut the surface, lithium silicate densifier is applied to harden it, then resin bonds hone up through the grit sequence to your chosen sheen.
- 4Protect and hand back
A penetrating impregnator protects against oil and water staining without forming a film that can peel. Each bay is handed straight back with no cure period.

Is polished concrete better than a resin coating?+
It depends on the slab and the chemical exposure. If the concrete is sound and you need abrasion resistance with no downtime, polishing usually wins. If you need chemical resistance, thermal shock resistance or a colour, resin is the right answer.
How long is each area out of use?+
Only while we are working in it. There is no curing period, so a bay ground and polished on a night shift is back in full service when the shift ends.
How much dust does the process create?+
Very little. Every machine runs shrouded into M class extraction, which is why we can run in occupied buildings including food and retail environments.
Can you polish a slab that has an old coating on it?+
Yes. The coating is removed as part of the first metal bond stage. Thick or heavily bonded coatings add a pass, which we allow for in the price after a site inspection.
How is it maintained?+
Auto scrubber with a neutral cleaner. Re-impregnating every few years in high traffic zones keeps stain resistance, and a light re-hone restores gloss without any of the removal work a coating replacement needs.
