Seamless Microcement Flooring
Microcement gives you a continuous floor with no grout lines and no expansion strips across an open plan space. It is trowelled at 2 to 3 mm, so in most homes it goes straight over the floor you already have rather than starting with a skip.

How we install it
- 1Movement survey first
We check deflection under load, the condition of any perimeter joints and whether the screed is bonded or floating. A floor that moves needs a decoupling layer, not more product.
- 2Prime and mesh
A quartz filled primer keys the substrate, then the first cementitious basecoat is applied and mesh is bedded wet into it so shrinkage cracking has nowhere to travel.
- 3Two fine coats
Two fine microcement coats go on with a stainless trowel and are sanded between passes. This is where the movement in the finish is created, and it is why two floors in the same colour never look identical.
- 4Seal in three passes
Three coats of two part polyurethane, each rolled and back laid, with the final coat dictating sheen. Any expansion joints in the slab are carried through the finish, not bridged.

Can microcement go over existing floor tiles?+
Yes, provided the tiles are firmly bonded. We tap test the whole floor, lift and patch any hollow tiles, degrease, then prime with a quartz filled primer. Grout lines are filled at basecoat stage so they do not read through.
Will a microcement floor crack?+
The finish itself is only 2 to 3 mm, so it does whatever the substrate underneath does. If the slab cracks or a joint moves, that will show. That is why we survey movement first and reinforce with mesh rather than relying on the product.
Is it warm underfoot?+
On its own it feels like stone. Over underfloor heating it performs very well because the thin section conducts heat quickly, and it usually responds faster than tile or engineered timber.
How do I clean it?+
A pH neutral floor soap and a flat mop. No bleach, no limescale removers and no steam mops, all of which attack the polyurethane sealer rather than the microcement.
Can you match a colour I have seen?+
We sample. You get A4 or A3 boards in the pigment and trowel style you want, made by the person who will apply your floor, before anything is committed on site.
