Microcement Colours, Textures and Sheen Levels
People choose microcement from a colour chip and then get surprised by the room. Colour is only one of three levers. Trowel texture and sealer sheen change the read of a finish far more than a pigment step does.

How we install it
- 1Start with the light
We look at which way the room faces and what the artificial lighting does at night. A grey that works in a south facing kitchen turns blue in a north facing hallway.
- 2Pick texture second
Tight trowel reads modern and shows dust less. Heavy movement hides traffic and suits large open floors. This choice does more than the colour step either side of it.
- 3Then choose sheen
Matt hides marks and flattens colour. Satin lifts depth and is the usual choice on floors. Gloss is dramatic and honest about every footprint, so we only recommend it on smaller areas.
- 4Sign off on the wall
Boards get taped up in the actual room and left for 48 hours across daylight and lamp light before anything is ordered.

Do I get a sample before committing?+
Yes. You get physical boards in the pigment, trowel style and sheen you are considering, made by the applicator who would do the work, so the sample is a genuine preview rather than a factory swatch.
Can you match an existing microcement floor?+
Often, if we have a physical offcut or can lift a small area to work from. Age, sealer and traffic all shift the tone, so a match is made against your floor as it is today, not the original recipe.
Which sheen is best for a floor?+
Satin for most homes. It carries colour depth, hides normal traffic and cleans easily. Matt suits bedrooms and quiet spaces, gloss suits showrooms where a floor is polished daily.
Will the colour fade?+
Mineral pigments are stable. What changes is the sealer, and a strong south facing window can gently warm a very pale finish over years. Reapplying a maintenance coat brings it back.
Can two rooms use different colours and still flow?+
Yes, and the neatest way is to keep one texture and sheen across both and change only the pigment, so the rooms read as one material in two tones.
