Brighton & Hove

Microcement Installers — Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove is one of our most-requested postcodes. From Victorian terraces in Kemptown to new-build apartments on the marina and seafront, microcement suits the city because it's grout-free, thin over existing floors, and continuous across bathrooms and kitchens.

Where this works

  • Kemptown, North Laine and Hanover terraces
  • Hove Regency and mansion-block flats
  • Marina and seafront new builds
  • Preston Park and Fiveways family homes
  • Independent retail, café and studio fit-outs in the Lanes

How we install it

  1. 1
    Old floors and thin build

Most Brighton terraces have suspended timber. We overlay 6–9 mm ply, then apply a mesh-reinforced microcement base coat so the finish doesn't crack with seasonal movement.

  2. 2
    Salt-air detail

For seafront and marina properties we step up to a marine-grade 2K PU top coat which handles the salt spray around windows and balcony thresholds.

  3. 3
    Working around parking

Central Brighton parking is planned into the quote up front — permits, loading zones and access windows are all agreed before the job starts.

Common pitfalls we prevent

Rushing over bouncy Victorian floors — the finish will crack; solved with ply overlay + mesh
Standard sealers on seafront properties — degrade in salt spray; solved with marine-grade PU

Frequently asked

Do you work in listed buildings in the Old Town?+

Yes. Interior finishes usually don't need consent, but we always confirm with the LPA on Grade II properties before starting.

Can microcement go over an old tiled bathroom?+

Yes — as long as the tiles are sound, we lightly abrade, prime and skim over them. It's usually the quickest way to modernise a Brighton bathroom without ripping out.
