Non-Slip Epoxy Flooring
Non-slip epoxy is a broadcast system: aggregate is worked into a wet build coat and sealed. Handled well, it hits R11 or R12 without becoming impossible to clean. Handled badly, it either goes slippery within weeks or shreds the mop.
Where this works
- Commercial kitchens & food-prep
- Wet rooms, changing rooms, poolsides
- Loading bays & workshops
- Ramps, staircases & disabled routes
- Dog grooming, veterinary & animal-handling floors
How we install it
- 1Match rating to environment
R10 is subtle office textured. R11 suits commercial kitchens and pool surrounds. R12+ is industrial and needs mechanical cleaning.
- 2Broadcast to refusal
Aggregate is thrown into the wet build coat until it stops absorbing. Loose particles are vacuumed after cure so nothing tracks out.
- 3Seal to lock
Clear PU top coat locks the aggregate. Two coats for wet food-prep; one is enough for dry retail.
Common pitfalls we prevent
Frequently asked
Is R11 enough for a wet kitchen?+
Yes — R11 is the standard commercial-kitchen specification in the UK. R12 is used only where the floor is regularly hosed down or handling greasy spillage.
Can you add non-slip to my existing epoxy?+
Often yes — if the base is sound we lightly abrade, apply a bonding tie coat and broadcast aggregate on top.
