Hove

Microcement kitchens, limewashed period interiors and high-end paint across Hove — from the seafront squares to Poets' Corner and Hove Park.

Overview

Hove is a quieter, slightly older-money counterpart to Brighton and the work here reflects that — larger floor plans, longer programmes, more designer involvement. The Regency and early-Victorian seafront squares (Brunswick, Palmeira, Adelaide) throw up big lateral flats with original lime plaster where limewash is the correct call, not a stylistic one. Inland, the Poets' Corner and Hove Park streets are full of substantial Edwardian villas being extended sideways and back, which is where microcement floors — usually pale, warm-toned — do most of the work. We treat Hove as a separate service area from Brighton because the projects are meaningfully different in size and character.

Property stock

Regency lateral flats on Brunswick, Adelaide and Palmeira squares, Edwardian villas in Poets' Corner, 1930s semis around Hove Park and Aldrington, contemporary flats in the recent seafront developments, side-return and loft extensions across BN3.

Design context

Hove interiors are calmer than Brighton's — soft neutrals, warm off-whites, limestone and oak, microcement in the pale-warm end of the range. Designers here ask for finishes that read as understated and grown-up.

What clients in Hove most often ask for
  • Microcement kitchen floors across Edwardian side-return extensions.
  • Limewash in the lime-plastered principal rooms of Regency lateral flats.
  • Family-bathroom refurbishments with microcement wet-room floors.
  • Full-house high-end paint schedules in soft warm neutrals.
  • Microcement continuous runs from kitchen through into utility and boot rooms.
Signature Hove project

A Poets' Corner Edwardian villa: microcement (Pale Stone) across 78 m² of open-plan kitchen, utility and boot room, high-end paint (Linen, Chalk, Warm White) throughout the reception rooms and bedrooms, limewash restoration on the original lime-plastered dining-room walls. Four-week phased programme.

Travel & on-site notes

Hove is 30 minutes from our Sussex workshop. No travel surcharge on any BN3 postcode. Larger BN3 seafront-flat projects sometimes need lift bookings — we coordinate with the managing agent before we quote a start date.

What we install most in Hove
Frequently asked — Hove
Can you work in a top-floor lateral flat on a Hove seafront square?+

Yes — we coordinate with the managing agent for lift bookings and hours-of-work restrictions before quoting. Most Hove estates are helpful with alterations consent for microcement installs.

Is microcement suitable across a large open-plan Edwardian side-return?+

Yes — this is one of our most-installed configurations in Hove. We can run 70–120 m² in a single continuous pour with no visible joints, provided the substrate is prepared correctly.

Do you offer a colour-matching service for Hove designer-led schemes?+

Yes — we colour-match microcement, high-end paint and limewash to RAL, Pantone or a sample you supply. See our colour-matching service page for how it works.
