Commercial Microcement for Retail, Hospitality and Offices
A commercial floor is judged on trading days lost, slip risk and how it looks after two winters of grit. Those three things drive the specification far more than the colour does.
Where this works
- Retail shop floors and fitting rooms
- Restaurant and cafe front of house
- Gyms, studios and clinic treatment rooms
- Office receptions, breakout areas and meeting rooms
- Salons, barbers and beauty rooms
How we install it
- 1Survey the traffic, not just the floor
We count what crosses the floor: trolleys, castors, stiletto heels, grit off a high street. That decides sealer grade and refresh cycle before anything else is specified.
- 2Phase to protect trading
Large areas are split into zones with hoardings so half the floor keeps working. Where that is impossible we run nights and hand back each morning.
- 3Build for wear
Commercial build ups use an extra sealer coat and a harder aggregate loading in circulation routes, so the wear pattern stays even rather than tracking down the middle.
- 4Leave a maintenance plan
You get a written schedule with the cleaning chemistry, the refresh interval and the cost of a refresh coat, so it can go into the facilities budget rather than arriving as a surprise.
Common pitfalls we prevent
Frequently asked
How quickly can we reopen after installation?+
Most commercial areas take foot traffic 24 hours after the last sealer coat, and heavier use such as trolleys and racking at 72 hours. Where a faster handover is essential we specify a rapid cure sealer and confirm the timings in writing.
Can you work at night or in phases?+
Yes, both. Phased zones with hoardings keep part of the space trading, and night shifts are used where the room cannot be split. Programme and access are agreed before we price.
What slip rating can you achieve?+
R10 as standard, and R11 where a risk assessment calls for it, achieved with a fine aggregate in the sealer rather than a texture that makes cleaning harder.
How does it hold up in a busy restaurant?+
Well, provided the sealer is the commercial grade and the cleaning regime uses neutral chemistry. Front of house typically wants a refresh coat every three to five years, which is an overnight job.
Do you provide RAMS and insurance documents?+
Yes, issued before we start along with product data and COSHH sheets, and we work to site inductions where a main contractor is running the job.
